1. Will CPF be included if I'm working as a temp/contract/perm?
CPF contributions must be paid monthly for all employees according to the rates set out in the First Schedule of the CPF Act from the 1st day of employment.

According to CPF Act, "CPF contributions are payable for part-time/casual employees whose wages exceed $50 a month. CPF is also payable for all school-leavers or students who are working on a part-time/temporary basis except for the following groups of:
  • Tertiary students on full-time industrial attachment/ training programme approved by their institutions
  • Students on training attachments in Singapore for less than 6 months, as part of their overseas  tertiary education requirements
  •  "N" or "O" level students working during their gazetted school holidays. However, if they have  completed school after "N" or "O" levels, CPF is payable from January of the following year, after their final exams
  •  "A" level students who have not completed their final "A" level examinations and working during their gazetted school holidays. CPF is, however, payable for students who have completed their final "A" level examinations in November / December."
The exceptions for payment of CPF for employees are as follow:
  • Foreigners on Employment Pass, Professional Visit Pass or Work Permit
  • Employees working overseas

As stated earlier, CPF contribution is compulsory if you earn more than $50 per month regardless of whether you are a full-time/part-time/temporary/contract staff.
